Chapter 8. January 30th, 2017 – Birthday gift and lab work

Back to Finland

I came back from France by -22 ° C. If winter goes on, I doubt that I will survive but I prefer an icy winter with snow than a warm grey winter. I resubmitted my article and surprise … It is accepted in the Journal of Ecology Oikos! Champagne! This is good, I brought bottles in my suitcase. There is still a long way to go before the article gets publish but the hardest part is done.

My birthday wasn’t a long ago and as a recompense, I made myself a gift: a pair of brand new ice skates. There’s nothing to do but practice again!

I’m still stuck in the lab and these lab days are as long as the Finnish winter. Fortunately, I occasionally observe species that I see quite rarely.
